At Books & Company we strive to maintain a good selection of gently used books in good condition. To that end we will buy good used books in the following manner:
You may sell your books over the counter on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. If you have several boxes, please be prepared to leave the books with us while we review them, or consider calling to make an appointment. You may also drop off your books at any time as long as you are willing to return later when our book buyer has had a chance to review them.
If you have a large collection of books, we may be able to visit you at your location to review your collection. Please call in advance to make an appointment with our book buyer.
What we pay for used books - We buy books we feel we can resell, offering approximately 25% (in cash) of the price we expect to realize for the books, or 30% in store credit. This price is based upon desirability, market value, in-print price, condition, and our current stock levels.
What we won't buy - With so many books in the world, and our own stock continually changing, it is impossible to say exactly what we'll be interested in at any one time. However, we can say that we are not interested in:
- Damaged, tattered, worn or torn books
- Textbooks
- Old encyclopedia sets
- Adult series westerns/action/romance (Harlequin, Longarm, etc.)
- Readers Digest Condensed books
- Hard cover popular fiction especially book club editions
- Magazines
- Computer books/ original software users manuals
- Ex-library books
